7:00am to 4:00pm, monday - thursday

6:00am to 12:00PM, Friday

Quality Control Inspector - Full Time Position

Carol Stream, Illinois


Experience: 1 - 3 years

Education Level: High School Education

Essential Job Functions:

  • Inspection of all parts that Core Pipe manufactures.

  • Primarily final inspection

  • Internal calibration

  • Must be able to distinguish any part that deviates from acceptable tolerances as specified by the work order.

  • Ensure that all procedures and activities are conducted in a safe manner.


Duties Breakdown:

  • 10%     Receiving inspection.

  • 85%     Final inspection of Fittings and Flanges

  • 5%       May be asked to work in other areas of manufacturing facility to alleviate bottlenecks.


Required Skills:

  • High School education

  • 1 – 3 years of experience.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong PC skills MS Office, and ERP systems.

  • Attention to detail is critical.

  • Accuracy and efficient data entry

  • Dependability is a must

  • Basic math

  • Able to read work orders, drawings, and blueprints.

  • Measuring equipment knowledge: Micrometers, calipers, height gage, and PMI equipment.


pRoblem solving/Decision making:

  • Must be able to distinguish any part that deviates from acceptable tolerances as specified by the work order.

  • Will receive guidance from QC Supervisor as needed.

  • Reading documents for general understanding (correspondence & memos) – Occasionally

  • Reading documents for analytical purposes, reading for a high degree of accuracy (contracts, technical reports, and so on) – Routinely.

  • Viewing video display terminals (VDTs). – Occasionally

  • Careful review of non-written, non-VDT materials (for instance; lab specimens) – Rarely

  • Driving – Rarely

What is the highest level of manual dexterity needed in this position?

  • Limited application of manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination (such as high-volume keyboard input or operation of manually controlled equipment).

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent moving and lifting of small parts; limited heavy lifting and moving parts with a pallet jack.

  • Sitting – Routinely

  • Standing - Routinely

  • Bending/Stooping – Routinely

  • Pushing/Pulling – Occasionally

  • Lifting under 10 lbs. - Often

Required personal Protection:

  • Steel-toe safety footwear - OSHA approved for manufacturing (discretionary annual company reimbursement program).

  • Safety glasses w/side shields company provided.

  • Prescription safety glasses must be approved by OSHA standard and have side shields (discretionary annual company reimbursement program)

  • Hearing protection is mandatory – company provided.

  • Job-specific Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be reviewed on the start date during orientation.
