Machine Operator- Full Time Position

Carol Stream, Illinois


Third shift

Salary range: $17.50/HR + Shift Premium

start date: ASAP

hours: 7:30pm - 6:00am

days: Monday - thursday

first shift

Salary range: $17.50/HR

start date: ASAP

hours: 6:00am - 4:30pm

days: Monday - thursday


Primary purpose of position:

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Machine Operator is responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operator, monitor, and troubleshoot assigned machines.  The Machine Operator is also responsible for inspecting parts to specifications and making adjustments or tool changes as necessary to maintain quality specifications.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Set up and operate various production machines in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.

  • Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and diagrams.

  • Perform necessary inspections, measuring parts using various types of measuring equipment, e.g. micrometers, calipers, calculator, and height gage.

  • Adjust machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely manner.

  • Ensure all activities are conducted in a safe manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.


Knowledge and Skill:

  • Must be reliable and have ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of company staff.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Powered Industrial Truck experience preferred (Forklift, Side Loader, Reach Lift, Scissor Lift, etc.)

  • Previous machine operating experience preferred, but not required, on-job-job training will be provided.

  • Basic computer skills (basic data entry)

  • Basic mathematical skills

  • Ability to read documents for general understanding

  • Ability to use Equipment with relatively simple operating procedures (micrometers, hand tools)

Required Materials:

  • Steel-toe safety footwear mandatory

  • Safety glasses w/side shield

  • Hearing protection mandatory (provided by Core Pipe)

    *Safety glasses provided unless employee wears prescription.

    *Prescription safety glasses must be OSHA-approved with side shields
